xhrl_ On Despise the Sun, Suffocation pits its own themes against one another in an internal conflict of rhythmic warfare. This is a savage example of pounding DM that utilizes contrapuntal structures in a recursive pattern to produce its effect. Muscular styling, surely! A major theme contrasts two ‘ideas’, which prowl in the form of unseen riffs. The refined style can best be heard on the final track "Catatonia". This EP contains both the complexity to be interesting & the brutality to mystify. Favorite track: Catatonia.

Milo Suffocation never disappointed me. This is hilarious how unbeatable their stuff still is. Favorite track: Bloodchurn.
